Delivers advanced professional and technical nursing care to patients of all ages to the Emergency Room for care. Collaborates with the medical staff and other disciplines in order to facilitate patient care. Accountable for the smooth, effective and efficient functionings in care with minimal direction from the department head. Collaborates with other disciplines in order to facilitate patient care. Is a knowledgeable roving nurse whom is able to provide care for Emergency Department patients in critical or unstable condition, provide care for new ICU patient admissions until the on-call ICU
Nurse arrives or assists with bedside procedures in the ICU. This nurse will assist with transportation and monitoring of critical care patients, monitor patients during diagnostic tests, provide for additional staffing support for sudden changes in patient volume and provide assistance during sudden changes in patient acuity on the medical surgical, telemetry units. Participates in the admissions process and patient movement to all areas of the hospital. Participates in continuous quality improvement and assists nursing with the hospital wide preparation of all regulatory agency surveys
Current Florida RN License
Current BLS Certificate. Current ACLS Certification
Critical Care or Emergency Services Certification preferred
Three (3) years of Critical Care or Emergency Care nursing experience required
Basic computer skills
Effective oral and written communication skills in the English language, ability to speak other language(s) preferred
Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assess/detect changes in human physiological condition
Good time management skills, ability to perform effectively in fast-paced, stressful environment
